Nikon my Picturetown congratulates its lucky winner
  • Conclusion of RAW Emotions online campaign
  • Winner selected for grand prize sponsored by Nikon and ZUJI
  • Membership in the region doubled as a result of the campaign
In April 2009, Nikon Asia concluded its regional RAW Emotions online campaign, which was aimed at promoting and driving membership for Nikon’s photo storage service my Picturetown.

Bringing the campaign to a close was the announcement of the grand prize winner. Mainak S Panchal from Singapore, who won S$3,000 in travel prizes, jointly sponsored by Nikon Singapore and ZUJI.

“I’m really thrilled to have won. Not only do I get free photo storage, I get to fill it with pictures from a trip to anywhere I want!” said the winner, who will be making plans for a holiday within this year. Mainak will be sharing his photos with Nikon after his trip, and thereafter with the public in a mini online gallery.

The campaign, which ran across Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong from February to April 2009, saw 70,000 visitors gracing the site and membership being doubled. Nikon’s Regional Marketing Manager, Mr. Numako Masayuki stated, “We’re very much pleased by the results thus far, and believe that we’ve succeeded in positioning my Picturetown in the right space – as a place for photographers to store and share photos without compromising on quality. We look forward to having more photographers share their passion with us here.”

Handling creative and media duties for the campaign was digital agency The Upper Storey. Business Director Euan Wilcox added, "It was an interesting brief for a great product and a brand many people already feel for, and we are delighted to have helped Nikon boost my Picturetown’s profile in the region."

The campaign utilised multiple digital channels, including display, search, email, affiliate and blog marketing.
